Voruta – Volynės metraštyje apie 1251 m. paminėta lietuvių pilis, kurioje Livonijos ordino kariuomenės dalinio remiamas Mindaugas apie 1251 m. vidurį apsigynė nuo vidaus kare prieš jį kovojusių lietuvių kunigaikščių ir jiems talkinusios Haličo-Volynės valstybės kariuomenės.

KALAVIJUOCIU ORDINAS 1202 M. RYGOJE ISTEIGTAS SU TAIKOS MISIJA, VYSKUPO ALBERTO. Oficialiai vadinosi Kristaus kariuomenės broliais (lot. Fratres militiae Christi). Juridiškai Ordinas buvo vyskupo vasalas.

Popiežius Klemensas III 1191 m. vasario 6 d. bule ordiną patvirtino kaip Fratrum Theutonicorum ecclesiae Sanctae Mariae Hiersolymitanae. 1196 m. kovo 5 d. Vokiečių ordinas Tamplierių ordino pavyzdžiu buvo pertvarkytas į riterių ordiną su rezidencija Akros uostamiestyje (dab. Šiaurės Izraelyje)
